“Fishing Spoken Here” is a light-hearted and entertaining presentation of thirty four fishing and seascape-related stories gleaned from the author’s long love affair with the sea. As a Bay of Islands fishing and cruise skipper whose career spanned more than forty years, Graham Clifford was never far from fishing action. His mark of worth was stamped very clearly in 1968 when he skippered the gamefishing boat that landed the first New Zealand marlin to weigh 1000 pounds(454kgs), the longest, strongest and heaviest fighting fish of the 20th century.
In most respects this book is autobiographical. This extends into “Call of the Sea” where four ocean adventures describe a working life at sea aboard merchant freighters in the 1960’s and the story of an amazing voyage across three oceans and seven seas, adventuring in what was and still is the most unusual small sailing craft ever to visit New Zealand.
